About this Role

At West SILC, you’ll join a passionate, experienced team who are committed to removing barriers to learning and empowering every pupil to succeed. We value collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement—and we support our staff with high-quality training, clear communication, and a strong culture of teamwork. We cater for pupils between the ages of 2 and 19 with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, on specialist sites and in mainstream partnership schools.

Whether you’re solving a technical challenge, setting up equipment for learners or staff or helping a colleague with their digital tools, your work will have a direct, meaningful impact every day.

We are looking for an IT Technician who wants to make a difference. Someone who understands that when technology works well, it can transform the learning experience—especially for pupils with additional needs. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring that our digital systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with the needs of our staff and learners. You’ll be a valued part of a friendly, professional team that supports every aspect of school life, helping our young people achieve their full potential.

We are looking for an organised and efficient individual who works well with a wide range of people, including staff, pupils, and visitors, and who can explain complex concepts in simple terms while making IT accessible and effective for our users.

West SILC is wholly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments are made subject to a DBS. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to online searches. If you are interested in applying, please complete the My New Term application form, explaining how your skills and experiences would help you succeed in this role at West SILC.
