About this Role

As a Teaching Assistant at Auckland College Independent School, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the Prep School. Working closely with class teachers, you will provide both academic and pastoral support, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where all pupils can thrive.

You will assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons, support individuals and small groups of pupils, and help to foster confidence, independence, and a love of learning. The role also involves supporting pupils’ social and emotional development, ensuring their wellbeing is nurtured alongside their academic progress.

This is a varied and rewarding position that extends beyond the classroom. You will contribute to the wider life of the school, including supporting break and lunchtime supervision, school events, and co-curricular activities. Flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative approach are essential, as you work as part of a dedicated team committed to achieving the best outcomes for every pupil.

The role is full-time on a 51-week contract, reflecting the school’s commitment to providing a consistent and supportive environment for pupils throughout the year.
