Due to our continuing growth, we are looking to recruit to a number of Level 2 Teaching Assistant positions within our School. We are excited to welcome on board like-minded individuals who have a passion for ensuring our SEN pupils thrive in an education setting.
Our Level 2 Teaching Assistants are require to promote the involvement of pupils in the social and academic processes of the School, to enable pupils to become more independent learners and help raise the standards of achievement of all pupils. You will also be required to provide general care and welfare to all pupils.
The
role of a Teaching Assistant is to provide support for classes or individuals
alongside a team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants. The successful candidate
will need to support children to become more independent learners, promote the
children in the social and academic processes of the school and help raise
standards and welfare to all pupils.
We are looking to appoint candidates with a General Level of education to GCSE Grade 4 – 9 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics and with experience of a school environment. We are ideally looking for candidates with experience of working with children with special needs in a school setting. However these roles could be suitable for individuals who wish to transition from the care sector to commence a career in education or who are looking to commence a career in education.
Please note that these posts are permanent part time posts (39 weeks inclusive of 5 training days). The roles will be for 33.75 hours per week, with ½ hour unpaid lunch break. The working pattern is as follows:
*Monday, Wednesday and Friday – 8.40 am – 3.30 pm
*Tuesday – 8.40 am – 5.00 pm (staff training/update from 3.30 pm – 5.00 pm)
*Thursday – 8.40 am – 4.00 pm (staff class time from 3.30 pm – 4.00 pm)
Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work part week (for example, Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) however all applicants must be able to work from 8:40am until the appropriate finish time.
Successful candidates will be appointed to work at any of the Rowan Gate School sites and all applicants should be able and willing to work at one of our sites or the satellite classes. As far as possible staff will be allocated to a specific site on an annual basis but travel between sites may be necessary on occasion.
