An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join our dynamic and innovative Ofsted rated Outstanding Centre.

Stevenage ESC is currently recruiting for an Outreach Worker for our Secondary Mainstream Alternative Provision programme. The successful applicant will be supporting students to engage in learning and be successful at local colleges or other identified provision, working within a quality assured framework to ensure success. Courses studied at alternative providers could include Construction, Hair and Beauty, Childcare and Motor Vehicle along with the potential for Music Technology and Game Design.

The ESC caters for young people who have been, or are at risk of being excluded from mainstream schools.  Our job is to re-engage them with education so that they can have a successful future. Along with this our alterative provision sees us supporting students from our mainstream schools in accessing vocational learning to supplement their core offer in their base school.  These students will be keen to pursue a practical course to help them engage and remain in their mainstream school and be successful by attending the identified alternative provision one day a week.

To be successful in this role, the applicant must be a strong team player who can work off their own initiative whilst remaining a confident, empathetic and positive character in the role.

You will be joining a dedicated team of inspirational educators who always put children at the heart of everything they do.  Previous experience is desirable however preference will be given to the right person irrespective of previous experience in a specialist setting.

Job Description and Person specification are attached.

Visits to the Centre are welcomed and recommended.  If you would like to come and look around or need any further information, please contact James Anderson on 01438 369119.
