Artemis Academy is seeking to appoint its inaugural School Business Manager to advise and support the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team in providing vision, strategic direction, professional leadership and operational management to ensure high quality education, pastoral and therapeutic care for all students.
Artemis Academy is a new special education school based in Faringdon, Oxfordshire. It will be a therapeutic day school for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).
Working directly with the Head Teacher and as part of the school’s senior leadership team, you will lead the school’s business services at both a strategic and hands-on level . Your remit will cover:
Strategic Leadership: Serving as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, advising on school planning and key business functions.
Financial Management: Overseeing budgets and forecasting in collaboration with the Trust’s central finance team to ensure maximum impact for our students.
Human Resources: Lead on school level HR matters and relevant people and employment procedures such as absence management, performance, recruitment, induction and probation etc.
Estates & Compliance: Ensure the buildings and site are maintained to a satisfactory standard and present a clean and purposeful environment for all users. Working closely with the facilities Manager to manage Health and Safety
Level 3 / 4 qualifications or relevant experience
Relevant experience of working in a business environment at a similar level with administrative experience in a management capacity
Knowledge and understanding of financial principles and controls, budget planning and management procedures
Understanding of HR principles, policies and procedures
