About this Role

We are looking for reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic teachers to act as cover teachers on an ad hoc basis. This is a flexible role offering the opportunity to work as much or as little as you wish, based around other commitments.

The ideal candidate will be required to:

    • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and feedback on the work completed to the regular class teacher.
    • Supervise and support pupils and help them to remain on task while ensuring that expected levels of behaviour and conduct are adhered to.
    • Create an environment conducive to learning and be able to provide clear instructions on the work provided.
    • Be adaptable and confident in interacting with different age groups and across a wide variety of subjects.
    • Be reliable and have excellent time keeping.

We are looking for teachers who are able to cover from Shell (Year 9) to Fifth Form (Year 11), but candidates who would be happy covering lessons for a wider range of year groups including Shell to Vth Form, would be of particular interest. Cover is required across a range of subjects and year groups and flexibility is key. Last minute availability is an advantage.

    What We Offer:

Highly competitive salary and benefits, including:

      • Free lunches and complimentary drinks, fruit and cakes during term time
      • Free on-site parking
      • Use of the College's wide range of sport and leisure facilities including library, swimming pool, gym and timetable of staff fitness classes
      • A warm, welcoming, and supportive school environment.

Hurstpierpoint College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including an online presence and adverse media review, checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
