About this Role


We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an amiable and student-focused Learning Support Tutor to support Mathematics in the Senior School, encompassing GCSE and A Level.

The ideal applicant will possess the ability to recognise the individual needs of every student and have an understanding approach to working with students who have specific difficulties.

Role responsibilities:

  • Developing students’ learning working within small groups and at times on a one-to-one basis, with a specific emphasis on specialist support in Maths
  • An ability to support Maths up to A level is preferred
  • Setting and marking appropriately differentiated work
  • Liaising with the Head of LS on the needs and progress of individual pupils
  • Maintaining close liaison with parents
  • Maintaining full lessons plans and records appropriate to each student and files showing attainment and progress
  • Attendance at LS parents’ evenings
  • Liaison with Heads of Department, houseparents and tutors on any students of mutual concern

  • The successful candidate will:
  • Be innovative, proactive, organised and place the needs of the young people at the forefront of everything they do
  • Have a very strong work ethic and commitment to getting work done to a high standard and in a tight time frame
  • Have a genuine interest in ensuring every pupil reaches their potential with an understanding approach to working with students who have specific difficulties
  • An ability to recognize the individual needs of every student, promote transferrable skills and to build confidence
  • The ability to work well in a team, but also to take the initiative where appropriate
  • Flexibility is a key attribute for this role.

 

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30
