Why Wychwood?

We are a large rural school set in the heart of the beautiful Wychwood community on the edge of the Cotswolds.  Our focus is developing a love of learning and ensuring that our children experience exciting and creative opportunities to learn, explore and have fun.

We offer a warm and welcoming environment with a dedicated staff team who are supportive of one another. There is a clear vision for school development to improve outcomes for all pupils. Ofsted (October 2024) described Wychwood as having a ‘close and caring ethos in which everyone is welcomed.’

Our commitment to a lifelong love of learning extends to our staff as well as our pupils, as described here by Ofsted: ‘Staff are wholeheartedly positive about their work at the school. They feel well-supported by leaders, valuing their training and professional development. The school proactively supports staff well-being and helps them to maintain a healthy work-life balance.’

We can offer:

a positive, supportive working environment where teamwork benefits every child

the chance to make a genuine difference to children’s lives every single day.

parents and children who value our school and the staff within it

governors and school leaders who are committed to ensuring that staff are supported to bring about the very best outcomes for pupils

excellent facilities and grounds which include a Forest School site, an outdoor swimming pool and astro pitch.

You will need to:

Take pride in leading a high‑quality, efficient and welcoming school office that supports the whole school community.

Bring a proactive, positive and solutions‑focused approach to managing busy administrative and business operations.

Communicate clearly and confidently with staff, parents, governors and external partners, building strong and professional relationships.

Have the organisational strength and attention to detail needed to oversee systems, data, budgets and compliance effectively.

Thrive in a fast‑paced environment, staying calm, adaptable and resourceful when managing competing priorities.

Use sound judgement to resolve complex issues and contributes thoughtfully to strategic planning.

Be committed to safeguarding, equality, professionalism and ensuring that every decision supports the best interests of children and staff.

Visits are warmly welcomed. Our Headteacher, Katy Gent, will be happy to show you around.  Please contact the school on 01993 830059
