Our vision is taken from Philippians 2.15 'Shine as Lights
in the World'
At Wychwood we aspire to shine as lights in the world,
fostering a life-long love for learning. Building a strong community
through loving relationships, together we are curious about the world with an
understanding of our responsibility to care for it and in doing so promoting
respect for people and the planet.
I am very pleased to welcome you to Wychwood Primary School.
We are a large, thriving, rural primary school at the heart of the Shipton and
Milton under Wychwood villages serving pupils from these communities and the
surrounding areas.
We have around 300 pupils in 11 classes that are organised
into Early Years, Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2. Each
phase is ably led by a member of the Senior Leadership Team. We offer an
exciting and inspiring curriculum that celebrates the beautiful and unique
setting of our school as well as offering a window to the rest of modern
Britain and the world . We supplement the curriculum with educational trips,
visitors to the school and curricular themed weeks. Specialist teachers visit
the school to offer instrumental lessons and language teaching.
We have a full and varied after school programme of
activities. Previous examples of clubs offered include football, hockey, choir,
athletics, maths, computing, craft, art, choir and general sports clubs. Before
and after school care is provided by WASP (Wychwood After School Provision).
At Wychwood we are proud of our strong links with the local
community, including the local churches. Our pupils also benefit from participating
in the sporting and artistic opportunities that are offered by the Burford
partnership of schools.
If you think that this may be the school for your child, then
please do pay us a visit. I would be delighted to give you a tour of our school
and explain to you, in more detail, what makes Wychwood such a special place.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
