The Science Department at Haberdashers' Boys Schools is a thriving and successful faculty, committed to delivering outstanding practical science education. We are seeking an organised, enthusiastic and proactive General Laboratory Technician to join our dedicated team and support the delivery of high-quality practical lessons across the sciences, with a particular focus on Chemistry.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a scientific background and strong practical laboratory skills who enjoys working in a busy educational environment and contributing to students' learning experiences.
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm - Term-time plus 15 days working pattern (including INSET days).
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Chemistry, you will play a key role in preparing practical lessons and maintaining laboratory facilities to ensure the smooth running of the Science Department.
Working closely with teaching staff and fellow technicians, you will prepare apparatus and materials for practical lessons up to A Level, support departmental activities and ensure laboratories operate safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, able to work independently and as part of a team, and committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
