The Bishop’s Stortford High School is a popular, oversubscribed 6FE
school of 1280 students, providing a single-sex education for boys in Years 7
to 11 with a thriving mixed sixth form of close to 400 students, including 137
female students. This is a very exciting time to be joining our Outstanding
school, as we relocated to a brand-new state-of-the-art school just over a year
ago. We have a fantastic new learning environment, supported by cutting edge
technology, and huge opportunities for the future.
Our vast list
of extra-curricular activities and trips means
students engage positively with school and represent our values with
pride. Staff turnover is low, as they feel well-supported and enjoy
working here, with many choosing the school for their own children.
The department runs multiple A-Level classes in each of
Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Science, and an ability
to teach one of those to A-Level would be expected of the successful
candidate. Students routinely make excellent progress at
GCSE and A-Level across each of the various
courses and there is a strong track-record of large numbers of
students going on to study science-related courses at university.
Please note that applications
must be the creation of the candidate applying. Whilst technology, including
artificial intelligence, may be used to help the candidate select certain
phraseology, if AI is used substantially, the application may be disregarded.
(We reserve the right
to interview and appoint before the closing date, should a suitable candidate
apply). Therefore, if you are interested, please submit
your application as early as possible.
