Hawridge and Cholesbury CE School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our friendly team. Applicants should be hardworking and take pride in their work, having and insisting on high standards, so that our children have a clean and safe place to learn.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
- To clean all school areas, corridors, stairs, classrooms, staff room, library, music room, Noah's Ark, ICT room, offices and shared areas, to ensure they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition
- To hoover and clean carpets and sweep and wash hard floors as required
- Occasional cleaning of toilets (both staff and pupils) and the medical room
- Occasional restocking of toilets, classrooms and the kitchen areas with paper towels, soap and toilet paper, as appropriate
- Securing and closing doors and windows as appropriate
- To carry out periodic deep cleans during school holidays
- To collect and dispose of waste in an appropriate manner, where required
- To assist in maintaining and arranging the orderly and secure storage of supplies
- Cleaning is to be done as per the agreed specification using equipment and materials appropriate to the different surface

Requirements
- To demonstrate that you can work on your own initiative, be part of a team, take instruction and constructive criticism
- Have energy, enthusiasm, positivity and ability to be flexible
- Experience in undertaking a range of cleaning duties
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
- Ability to plan own workload and to meet deadlines
- Be patient, punctual, reliable and trustworthy
- To work within agreed policies, including Health and Safety, as well as adhering to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures
- Ability to use own initiative to improve areas of practice
Desirable
- Knowledge of Health & Safety COSHH regulations
- Safeguarding awareness
- Previous experience in a similar role
