About this Role

This post is for 15 hours per week over 5 days, term time only plus INSET days as required.

We are a large, welcoming and friendly school in Luton, described as a "good school" by Ofsted and, under Section 48, as an "outstanding Catholic School".  Our aim is to empower children to love learning and to be a school which is happy, engaging and a place where children feel safe and secure.

If you want to make a difference to children and young people and have experience working with small groups or with children with SEND or behavioural needs, then this may be the opportunity for you.

The successful candidate will:

  • be dedicated in supporting the aims and ethos of our successful Catholic school community
  • be flexible, enthusiastic and committed in supporting the needs of individuals and groups of children
  • be able to work under the direction of the Special Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator and Class Teacher, follow agreed lesson plans and use support strategies appropriate to the needs of the pupils
  • work as part of a supportive team and demonstrate a positive attitude and good communication skills
  • demonstrate high expectations of children's behaviour and attainment
  • be dedicated to raising attainment for all children
  • demonstrate a high standard of English and Mathematics
  • be confident and patient when dealing with children who struggle to regulate their emotions

Please refer closely to the job description and person specification in your application.

A visit to the school is encouraged.

Closing date 11/07/2024.  Applicants will be shortlisted on Friday 12/07/24.  Interviews will take place on 16 & 18 July 2024.

CVs will not be accepted for any posts based in schools.  The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.  Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
