About this Role

Applicants require Maths and English GCSE grade C/4 or above to qualify for this role.

The role is term time only working hours 8.30am - 3pm (4pm on a Monday to attend CPD) on a casual contract to provide cover.

The role involves delivering both one-to-one and small group support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), while also fulfilling the broader responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant within the classroom as required. A key aspect of this position is developing positive, trusting relationships with some of the school’s most vulnerable learners. By building strong rapport and understanding each student’s individual needs, the role aims to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. This enables students to engage more confidently in their education, overcome barriers to learning, and achieve their full potential through tailored and effective support.

This role may appeal to anyone considering teacher training to gain some experience in a school.

Staff Benefits include:

  • Employee Assistance Scheme providing physiotherapy, counselling, health and nutrition/lifestyle advice and menopause support
  • Pension (West Yorkshire Pension Fund)
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Staff Counselling (a personal & confidential counselling & support service)
  • Varied Staff wellbeing Initiatives
  • Use of school fitness suite
  • Kirklees Vivup Scheme (saving money on shopping, days out, entertainment etc)
  • Free flu vaccinations and eyecare vouchers
  • Childcare vouchers
