About Grove Learning Trust
Based in the town of Swindon, we are a family of eight academies united by a shared purpose: creating remarkable futures for over 2,300 primary-aged children and over 400 colleagues in our team. Our commitment to excellence knows no bounds, and our passion for learning ignites every classroom.

Grove Learning Trust recognises its moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
We endeavour to develop a deep safeguarding culture in which our academies provide safe and welcoming environments. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support and protection.
Child protection forms part of our safeguarding responsibilities. This means that in line with government requirements, we have a Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy which includes details about our responsibilities and procedures. This can be viewed on the on the Grove Learning Trust and GLT academies' websites.
Every school has their own version of our policy which is adapted to be relevant to the context and procedures of their local school community. All staff (including supply staff and volunteers) must ensure they are aware and understand these school specific procedures.
At Grove Learning Trust we have a strategic safeguarding lead who:
- Supports each individual school’s safeguarding team
- Monitors the consistent delivery of statutory safeguarding responsibilities against the school’s safeguarding and child protection policy and the latest version of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/keeping-children-safe-in-education--2
- Ensures the Trustees and trust staff receive relevant and up to date safeguarding guidance from an external safeguarding consultant
- Reports to the Board of Trustees, through the standards and performance committee, on trust and school safeguarding matters
