Yardley Primary School

About Yardley Primary School

Welcome to Yardley Primary School, a four form entry primary school in Birmingham admitting 120 pupils each year in our Reception year.

We are extremely proud of our caring and diverse school community.  We work very hard to create a safe and secure environment where children can enjoy their learning and experience a wide range of exciting activities and opportunities. We greatly value the relationships we have with our families and the wider school community.

At Yardley Primary School, we have strong values that guide the actions of both staff and pupils to provide an education that develops a pupil’s personality, talents and abilities to ensure they are equipped to participate and contribute as a successful member of society.

Through a culture of teamwork and collaboration, we develop life-long learners and instil in them the key skills and knowledge to enable them to thrive in the world around them, both now and in the future.

We aim to inspire every pupil to engage in all aspects of school life and take ownership of their learning and personal development. We are ambitious and take into consideration the needs and interests of our pupils and the wider community. We provide key learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom, empowering pupils to question and explore all of the opportunities that they are entitled to.

There are three significant values that underpin our work as a school community: Aspire, Inspire and Teamwork.

For each value, we develop and celebrate key characteristics that demonstrate these values at Yardley Primary School.

The Governing Body is committed to the welfare of children in its care.  It recognises that the legal requirements for recruiting and employing people to work in the school include provisions specifically to protect children from harm and that following these provisions is an essential part of its duty of care.  It also recognises that the legal requirements for checking prospective employees’ right to work in the United Kingdom protect those responsible for recruitment from fines for infringing the law.
