I am very proud to be the Headteacher at Woodnewton and wish you all a very warm welcome including all prospective parents, friends and families. It is an honour to be leading such a special school - we love and believe in what we do and we are passionate about making a positive difference to the children and families entrusted in our care.
Our children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure that they are thriving, happy, safe, learning and confident so they can fulfil their dreams, aspirations and are ready for life and their future. Our school is about people – children, families, staff, governors and community – with trust, honesty and relationships being central to our school ethos. Together we are stronger and collectively we have the skills and experiences, belief and determination to travel the most exciting journey for your child and achieve our collaborative goals.
The curriculum is a vital part of life at Woodnewton. We, therefore, ensure that our children have access to a broad, balanced, rich and engaging curriculum with high-quality learning experiences, where emotional well-being, academic achievement, physical development and high expectations, are placed firmly at the core. We foster their curiosity and passion for a lifetime love of learning so that all children are successful, achieve their dreams and become the best they can be.
Successful learning is determined by the close relationships and partnerships built with you and our families. We see you, the parent/carer, as an essential partner in your child’s learning and value working closely with you – no one knows your child as you do and we can only achieve the best for your child united.
Our shared Woodnewton values underpin everything that we do:
*Respect *Responsibility *Compassion *Friendship *Hope *Trust
We value the way all children and families are unique and we celebrate diversity and equality and value the importance of each and every person within our Woodnewton community. We will respect others regardless of ability, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion. We will provide a happy, caring, safe, supportive and positive learning community.
Together we believe.
Together we achieve.
Together we succeed.
Together we will make Woodnewton the best it can be.
An exciting journey awaits us all and we are proud to be part of it.
