Welcome from the Executive Headteacher
Winhills Primary Academy is a vibrant, welcoming one-form entry school with a nursery, where children, families and staff work together to create a happy and ambitious learning community. Set within extensive school grounds, we are fortunate to offer children a wide range of indoor and outdoor learning opportunities that enrich both academic learning and wellbeing. We are incredibly proud of our children, who are enthusiastic, kind and eager to learn, and of our dedicated staff team who are committed to delivering high-quality education and pastoral care for every child.
At the heart of everything we do is our shared motto, be the best we can be, which underpins our aspirations for both children and staff. This is supported by our core values of being Ready, Respectful and Safe, which shape our positive culture, guide behaviour and ensure a calm, purposeful environment where everyone can thrive. Children at Winhills achieve well and make excellent progress from their starting points, supported by a carefully planned curriculum and strong teaching that meets the needs of all learners.
We place a strong emphasis on wellbeing and inclusion, offering a high level of pastoral support through our dedicated and experienced Family Liaison Officer, who works closely with pupils, families and external agencies to ensure every child feels safe, supported and ready to learn. Currently undergoing an exciting period of improvement and development, Winhills is investing in its learning environments, curriculum and wider school offer to continue meeting the needs of our community. Parent and children surveys consistently highlight how happy, cared for and valued our children feel.
Candidates joining Winhills will find a supportive, forward-thinking school where professional development is encouraged, teamwork is central and everyone shares the belief that every child and adult can achieve their very best.
