At Willingham Primary School and Honeypot Preschool, we have
created a warm, inclusive, and ambitious learning environment where everyone is
respected, valued, and supported to improve every day—from whatever their
starting point.
Honeypot Preschool is an integral part of our school community and
marks the beginning of a carefully planned, progressive curriculum that
continues through Reception and into Year 1 and beyond. From the very start,
children are immersed in a rich learning environment that builds strong
foundations in communication, language, social development, and early academic
skills. This coherently sequenced curriculum evolves from the seven areas of
the EYFS Framework in Reception to a traditional, subject-based structure in
Years 1 to 6. Rooted in the principles of cognitive psychology, our approach
supports high-impact teaching that helps pupils embed knowledge deeply and
retain it long-term. We focus on what works, not simply on what has always been
done, building both substantive and disciplinary knowledge year on year to
ensure every child develops the confidence and understanding they need to
thrive.
Our warm/strict behaviour curriculum ensures that teachers can
teach and pupils can learn. This culture of calm, consistency, and high
expectations allows for meaningful learning and strong relationships.
Discipline is evident in all areas of school life, and our children are guided
to become the best versions of themselves—kind, respectful, hardworking, and
proud of their efforts.
We value feedback, not marking, and use formative assessment to
inform instruction and ensure pupils make continual progress. At Willingham,
professional development is a priority. You’ll engage with high-quality,
focused CPD that includes academic reading, expert-led training, and time to
practise and reflect—all within a caring, supportive team. We also value staff
wellbeing: each member of staff is offered a Wellbeing Day annually, and our
culture of mutual respect and kindness extends to our staff community.
We are proud of the strong relationships we foster with parents
and the wider village. We see ourselves as a cohesive part of the community and
strive to make it proud of us.
We’re looking for people who align with our core values of hard
work, integrity, and kindness, and who will help us fulfil our mission:
To provide pupils with the knowledge, experiences and confidence
they need to excel at secondary school and so that they can make the choices,
now and in the future, to have a happy, fulfilling life.
