Thomas’s London Day Schools is more than a family of schools, it is a living legacy of vision, courage, and kindness. Founded in 1971 by Joanna and David Thomas in a small rented church hall in Pimlico, what began as a joyful kindergarten has grown into one of London’s most respected and forward-thinking educational groups, offering a seamless journey of discovery and belonging from age 2 to 18.

From the outset, Joanna and David’s mission was clear, to create a school where high standards and humanity walk hand in hand, where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and kindness guides every interaction. More than fifty years on, those founding values continue to shape life across Thomas’s. They unite our four preparatory schools in Battersea, Clapham, Fulham, and Kensington; our Battersea Kindergarten; and our senior school, Thomas’s College, which opened its doors in Richmond in September 2025, fulfilling the long-held vision of a fully connected education.
