About Thomas's Kensington
Thomas’s Kensington is a vibrant, forward-thinking school where curiosity, creativity and compassion shape everything we do. Our community is alive with energy and ambition, and pupils are encouraged to think boldly, work collaboratively and approach learning with joy and purpose.
We educate around 400 pupils aged 4–11 and are proud to be part of the Thomas’s family of schools. Our provision is outward-looking and values-led, giving equal weight to knowledge, skills, character and metacognition. Academic standards are exceptionally high, and imaginative, innovative teaching both stretches and supports every child. Professional development is central to our culture, and our status as an Apple Distinguished School reflects our commitment to excellence and innovation.
This is an exciting moment in the school’s history. In November we move to our new home on St Alban’s Grove, a state-of-the-art campus with light-filled classrooms, specialist teaching spaces and beautifully designed outdoor areas. Our pupils also benefit from outstanding sporting provision at Dukes Meadows, shared with Thomas’s College, where major investment has created first-class facilities.
Academic excellence at Thomas’s Kensington sits alongside a rich co-curricular offer, spanning performing arts, outdoor education, competitive sport and a wide range of clubs. Every child is known, nurtured and challenged in equal measure so that they develop independence, integrity and a strong sense of purpose as they move on to their next school.
Pastoral care is at the heart of school life, and we work closely with families to support each child’s wellbeing and next steps at 11+. Many pupils continue within the Thomas’s community to our Battersea school or to Thomas’s College, which now offers a pathway to 18; others move on to leading day and boarding schools across the UK.
Our staffroom is warm, collaborative and outward-facing, a place where professional learning is celebrated, ideas are shared and innovation is encouraged.
