A welcome from our Headteacher
My name is Richard Smith and I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Pace school and it is my pleasure to warmly welcome you to our school.
Established in 1990, Pace is an independent special school for children aged 3-16 with neurodisabilities, including cerebral palsy. I joined Pace in January 2023 as a Deputy Headteacher and I have been Headteacher since September 2024. We work with our child to enable them to reach their fullest potential when they leave us to take their place in the world, with as much independence as possible.
I am immensely proud of our large team of highly trained and dedicated staff. Working together, our teachers, therapists and conductors with support from other professionals ensure that your child is given a high level of personalised support to access the curriculum so that they can learn and achieve outstanding outcomes. Pace school has consistently been graded ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted for the last 7 inspections, since 2006. Inspectors praise our specialist, bespoke and integrated curriculum and methodology. Following our latest inspection, Ofsted said ‘The Pace Centre is a learning community of the highest calibre. The quality of education here is first class’.
