About The Helix Education Centre
Welcome to The Helix Education Centre! Thank you
for your interest in working for us., we are committed to a shared moral
purpose; to make a positive difference to the lives of the young people in our
community.
I am proud and honoured to be the The Head Teacher
of a provision where all stakeholders work effectively and enthusiastically
together to ensure continuing success.
The Helix Education Centre is a provision which enables young people to
change the direction of their lives.
The Helix Education Centre is
Harrow Local Authority’s Education Other Than at School (EOTAS) service. We are
a Service consisting of a Primary & Secondary Pupil Referral Unit, Hospital
Education, Home Tuition and an outreach Inclusion Support Team; providing
education for pupils from 5-16 years covering the four Key Stages. The
Helix Education Centre supports pupils from all Harrow Schools.
Our service provides a
transitional education and support for up to 160 learners per year when they
are unable to attend mainstream school. Pupils enter the service when
they have been permanently excluded, as a respite placement, ill health
(mental or physical) or occasionally by other circumstances.
We
believe that all children have the potential to become successful adults.
Strong and healthy relationships with the pupils and with each other mean that
staff really know the pupils and their needs and can ensure success is achieved
by providing exactly the right support. Learning has always been and continues
to be placed at the heart of the centre and all that we do and is key to the
success of all our pupils.
