All of the pupils who attend The Heights Academy will:
- have an Education and Health Care Plan
- have a primary diagnosis of Autism (ASC)
We recognise that each young person on the autism spectrum has unique needs and approaches to learning. Pupils at The Heights Academy have often found mainstream settings overwhelming or overstimulating and therefore they have struggled to access the full range of the curriculum and achieve their potential. Therefore, pupils at the school require a more personalised approach to enable them to access the age related national curriculum.
Our staff provide a caring and safe learning environment and work in partnership with our parents and carers to ensure that all our children are able to reach their full potential.
At The Heights Academy, the staff and pupils promote and practice British Values across the curriculum. We also prioritise the well-being and personal development of the whole Heights community.
