The Brades Lodge

Shenstone Lodge School is a Special School which educates and supports Primary and Secondary aged students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. Sandwell MBC are the ‘host’ Authority.  

Operating across two sites we are committed to providing a structured and caring environment which promotes education, aspiration and challenge. We aim to deliver a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum which develops core academic skills, improved self-management, pride and resilience.

The Shenstone Lodge site is based just outside of Shenstone village, near Lichfield in Staffordshire. The site has been home to a special school for over 50 years and currently has children from Y1 to Y7.

There is a residential provision on the Shenstone site which can accommodate up to 12 students overnight between Monday and Thursday during term time. Sandwell MBC are in the process of reviewing this provision and as a result we have no students using this facility at present. 

The Brades Lodge site is a day school situated in Tividale, Oldbury and supports students from Y7 to Y11.

All students have regular opportunities to participate in off-site activities which have a range of academic and social benefits. We are extremely active in our localities and offer a range of opportunities for partnership working and engagement in joint activities.
