OVERVIEW
The Bishop Wand Church of England School is an 11-18 Academy located in Sunbury on Thames, close to the borders of Surrey and the London Boroughs of Richmond and Hounslow. As a School we are proud of our reputation for academic achievement and exceptional pastoral care and are oversubscribed year on year with a thriving Sixth Form.
Our mission statement ‘Realising God-given potential’ enshrines our belief that every child has a God-given talent and it is our role to nurture and celebrate every success, building a community where the emphasis is on the achievement of the individual and where values of mutual understanding and respect are shared. High aspirations, challenge and a love for learning and personal development apply equally to both students and staff and a large investment is made by our School in developing and supporting staff at all stages of their career.
Relationships and community are vital elements of a successful school, and our strong Christian ethos, our care and genuine appreciation and understanding pervade all aspects of our School life. Staff colleagues are our greatest resource and we strive to support each other, share good practice and develop as professionals.
