Welcome to our school! The Alderton Junior School is a 2 form entry Junior School for pupils between the ages of 7 to 11 years. We are a forward-thinking school, working in collaboration with 15 other local schools as part of the Epping Forest Schools Multi-Academy Trust. Situated in Loughton, Essex, close to transport links in to Central London but with the countryside, community feel of the Epping Forest Area. 

We value our relationship with, and work very closely with The Alderton Infant School with whom we share the site. I feel very proud to be the Head Teacher at The Alderton Junior School, and privileged to work with parents and the amazing pupils who attend our school. Every child is special, every child is an individual and we enjoy watching them grow, develop and achieve in many ways before transitioning to Secondary School.  

Our vision is clear, to provide pupils with an exceptional education that is inclusive and challenging for all learners and provides wider opportunities for all. We are the Alderton family. We nurture every individual so that everyone who joins our family feels that they are safe and that they belong. We instill in our pupils our school values and we believe strongly in the power of hope, compassion, kindness, collaboration and belonging.  

The Alderton Junior School provides nearly 300 children with exciting learning opportunities that enhance their academic as well as social and physical development. We are very well supported by an active Parents’ Association and parents who are overwhelmingly positive about our school. Alongside our ambitious Governing Body, we have an unwavering desire for the children to receive the very best, all-round education so that they are confident, independent and ready for the challenges of the wider world.
