Our school very much has the feel of a village school, as a small school there is a very strong sense of nurture where all the children are known to the staff and children of all years have the opportunity to play and grow together. This gives us the chance to lead learning with the children very much as part of a family.

The school has been an integral part of the community for over 100 years, we are an active member of the Spring Partnership Trust of schools that offers training and learning for staff and children. 

At St Mary Cray there is a clear focus on academic achievement, our children are motivated and have high standards of behaviour. Children are encouraged to participate and succeed to the best of their ability across a broad curriculum that reaches beyond the classroom. Our children have opportunities to learn through a wide range of educational visits and events, we organise residential trips in Year 6 and all classes go on visits to complement and enhance their learning experiences.
