Welcome to St. Wilfrid’s Church of England Primary School. I hope that you find this website useful and that it gives you an insight into what makes our school so special.
St. Wilfrid’s is part of the Thrive CE Academy Trust. We are committed to a distinctively Christian and Anglican educational experience, which is encapsulated by our core values of Belonging, Believing and Becoming.
We are a larger than average primary school serving the parish of St Wilfrid’s, Northenden (and also Anglican Churches which are in the Mission Community 5 of the South Manchester and Stretford Deanery). We also have many families joining us from Northern Moor, Sharston, Benchill and Wythenshawe. We enjoy close links with our parish and are proud to be part of the Mission Community 5 (South Manchester and Stretford)
At St Wilfrid’s, we ensure children have a love of learning through our fun and creative curriculum in a stimulating Christian environment. We want children to have meaningful experiences, where they are challenged and enthused so that they are inspired, motivated, proud and inspired to become and be ambitious.
We strive to ensure that all pupils reach their true potential and grow, through the teachings of our Christian values: generosity, forgiveness, community, compassion, perseverance and respect. Our trust identity is rooted in gospel values; The Parable of the Mustard Seed (Mark 4:30-32) and the example Jesus gave to us and this is clearly visible when you see St Wilfrid’s in action.
We achieve this by teaching a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum, forging close partnerships between home, school, our academy trust and parish. At St Wilfrid’s, we celebrate all aspects of attainment, achievement and character development. We also celebrate the fundamentals in life from tying shoelaces to reading a sentence for the first time, from performing on stage in front of an audience to learning and playing a musical instrument. This also includes any achievements outside of school life, from taking part in sports to taking part in local and national events.
This website, provides you with a glimpse of life at St Wilfrid’s. I look forward to having the opportunity of welcoming you to our school community and personally sharing our vision with you.
