At Stephen’s C of E First School we are proud to be a distinctly Christian Church school serving a diverse cultural community. Our curriculum is rich and exciting using our Christian values to guide learning. Our values ensure pupils learn to be honest, respectful citizens who care for one another and our planet.
Our school motto, 'Achieve, aspire and care for one another', is continually reiterated to encourage our children to achieve and flourish. We are a happy school with dedicated staff who work hard to meet the needs of all our pupils.
We are committed to the Christian ethos - that every child is special in the eyes of God and we teach that all people should love, care for and respect one another and our planet.
Our ambition is that all pupils use our five Christian values: Love, Peace, Hope, Compassion and Forgiveness.
‘A New Commandment I give you, ‘Love one another as I have loved you.’ John 13:34
It is from this Commandment and the teachings of Jesus that we teach our children five Christian values.
A Central Region Schools Trust school is a school with
soul. Our overarching philosophy is to give each pupil a complete and
generous education embracing the traditional academic
subjects, the arts and sport and subjects that provide
insights into the ethics of good living. We want our schools to be inclusive,
networked, “green” and demonstrably mission-led –
by which we mean committed to the values of individual flourishing and social
progress. Guy Shears, CEO, Central Region Schools Trust
