About St Peter's School
Welcome
to St Peter’s School.
In September 2016 St Peter’s
joined The Cam Academy Trust. This collaborative partnership gives our staff
and students a growing range of opportunities to develop and broaden their
experience. The trust CEO Claire Heald is clear that reading, all-through
education, the best possible outcomes for our most vulnerable pupils and collaboration
are key drivers going forward.
St Peter’s school was founded in
1870 and serves the residents of the market town of Huntingdon, and the
surrounding villages. St Peter’s prides itself on continuing to offer
excellence in education to all students regardless of their background or
ability. We are a mixed comprehensive school welcoming approximately 1,400
students aged 11 to 18 each year from 59 nationalities.
It is an exciting and rewarding
place to work, both for teaching and non-teaching staff, and we are always
interested in hearing from dynamic and enthusiastic people who want to make a
difference to children's education. To support our staff a comprehensive
professional development programme is run with a significant proportion
delivered by our own staff who are proven effective practitioners with
knowledge of effective teaching strategies that engage, stretch, and challenge
our students.
At
St Peter’s we work together with our students to make sure every individual has
the best chances of success, now and in the future. We trust our young people
to be responsible and positive members of society which is why we encouraged
them to define our ethos.
