It is my pleasure to welcome you to St Norbert’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy. For almost a century we have been an integral part of our local community, enjoying the rare privilege of nurturing and educating the children in our care so that they go on to become full and active members of society.
Ours is a happy, busy and thriving school community, underpinned by Gospel values and the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. Children, parents, staff and governors all strive in partnership with each other for excellence. We are proud of our inclusive and welcoming culture, passion for learning and high standards of behaviour.
As a Rights Respecting School, we promote the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, seeing it as our Catholic Mission to protect and promote children’s rights. Adults recognise their responsibilities as ‘Duty-Bearers’ so that children can understand their status as ‘Rights-Holders’. We teach children that they achieve dignity when they are able to access their rights.
Although our school is smaller than average, with around 120 children aged 3 to 11, we ‘think big’ and have high aspirations for all of our learners. We know that each child is special and we therefore offer a breadth of opportunities for each individual to excel. We focus on the ‘whole child’ and are strategic in our approach to ensuring that all pupils enjoy a range of experiences which will prepare them well for life in 21st century Britain.
Our learning environment provides a stimulating and safe space in which children can thrive. Staff care deeply about our learners and work exceptionally hard to ensure that a child’s experience of education at Saint Norbert’s is profoundly positive.
We welcome and encourage visitors to our school, warmly inviting you to come and meet with us to experience what we have to offer.
Our school is named after Saint Norbert – a man who promoted Christ present in the Eucharist. It was the Norbertines who established our church community here in Crowle, which subsequently led to the creation of our school.
This place is deeply rooted in our local history and our work continues to be influenced by this heritage, as well as our Catholic mission.
