St Mary's works with other schools within the Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust for internal reviews, writing moderation, CPD and as subject leaders to ensure we are outward facing and consistently looking to improve our educational offer and reduce workload for all our staff. Our children also work together on joint collective worships, visits and activities.

Workload and wellbeing are priorities at our school and we work with all staff throughout the school to reduce workload wherever possible through protected PPA time, regular subject leadership time each half term, purposeful meetings for all staff, allocated time to complete curriculum newsletters, regular opportunities for teachers to liaise with teaching assistants, quality CPD for all staff and staff meetings to complete tasks. We come together as a staff each half term for regular wellbeing opportunities such as pizza after school, breakfast sandwiches and shared lunches. The SLT regularly ask staff for feedback via surveys and reviews to continuously identify how we can improve our wellbeing and workload offer. These feed into our workload and wellbeing action plan which is regularly updated and shared with staff.

As a school we can offer you:

  • Very well behaved, confident, engaged children.
  • Children with a thirst for knowledge.
  • Parents who are keen to support their children’s learning.
  • Supportive, proactive, enthusiastic staff.
  • Staff focused on maximising the children's academic and social and emotional potential as they move through our school.
  • Governors who are supportive and aspirational for the school.
  • A thriving parish community who are eager to help.
  • The opportunity to develop leadership skills with other schools within the Trust and the wider community.

We are very proud of our school, staff and children and welcome visits to the school.
