St Martins School is a unique and welcoming all-through school at the heart of the village of St Martins, offering education for children and young people from age three to sixteen. Established in September 2012, the school brought together the strengths of Ifton Heath Primary School and Rhyn Park School and Performing Arts College to create Shropshire’s first all-through school.
In 2016, we proudly joined the 3–18 Education Trust. The Trust’s ethos and vision closely align with our own strong family- and child-centred values, providing an environment where both pupils and staff are supported to thrive.
Our relatively small size is one of our greatest strengths. It allows us to know our children well, to tailor learning to individual needs, and to foster a strong sense of belonging for everyone who works and studies here. The atmosphere at St Martins is warm, supportive and nurturing, underpinned by a clear commitment to both academic progress and personal, social development.
As an all-through school, we are in the unique position of drawing on both primary and secondary expertise across the whole curriculum. Staff work collaboratively across phases, ensuring that learning is carefully sequenced and that pupils experience a smooth, cohesive journey from early years through to Key Stage 4. Primary pupils benefit from access to specialist teachers and facilities, while secondary staff value the deep understanding of earlier learning that this model provides.
Our curriculum is engaging, challenging and thoughtfully designed to make the most of our all-through structure. It supports confident transitions, high expectations and strong outcomes, while also allowing staff to work creatively and collaboratively across age ranges.
Beyond the classroom, we are passionate about broadening horizons. Through enrichment opportunities and a strong focus on learning beyond our rural setting, we encourage our students to see themselves as global citizens with high aspirations. Our pupils go on to achieve great things, supported by staff who are committed, enthusiastic and proud to be part of our community.
At St Martins School, we value our staff as much as our students. We offer a professional, caring environment where teamwork is strong, contributions are valued, and everyone is encouraged to grow and develop.
