Our mission at St Augustine's Catholic Primary School is to make our children feel cared for and secure in our school, where Catholic values are practised and where all our children's gifts and abilities are recognised and developed in a family atmosphere of respect and friendship.

This is summed up by the banner in our Hall that reads ' We try to follow Jesus by loving each other and caring for God's world'.

We are one of the longest established primary schools in the whole country, set in the heart of Old Costessey with a caring, family atmosphere that pervades all aspects of school life. We have a strong sense of internationalism both through our curriculum and our links with other countries across the globe as well as our links with the local families and community that ground us in Old Costessey.

Children at St. Augustine’s know they are part of a large school family that loves and cares for them, supported by our school rules and mission statement. They know they are part of a wider global family shared with children in our school from many other countries, speaking many languages. Our children value teamwork to help others, demonstrated in regular charity events that they lead and organise. 

Our children value learning and education, understanding wisdom is gained by shared knowledge and mistakes. Children know our school is a safe place to make mistakes, where they will be supported and forgiven. They like and respect the school staff and know who to speak to if they need help. 

Our children value the rich experiences and opportunities they get at school, especially the school trips organised locally and further afield, that celebrate other talents beyond the day-to-day classroom lessons. 

The children in turn value their time at St Augustine's and are always welcomed back and an interest is taken in their future schooling and their life beyond.
