South View Academy

About South View Academy

South View Academy is  an exciting new specialist school opening soon in Osgoodby, Selby. We’re not just building a new school; we’re establishing a vital resource for the local community, dedicated to supporting young people with complex and diverse Special Educational Needs (SEND).

We are part of the Wellspring Academy Trust, a trust nationally recognised for its commitment to staff development, enhanced opportunities, and career progression. If you are looking for a role that is professionally stimulating and deeply rewarding, your journey starts here.

We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and ambitious community where:

  • Personalised Learning: We provide highly specialised, individualised education that develops essential academic, functional, and life skills necessary for meaningful adult lives.
  • Progress is celebrated: We champion every step of a student’s journey, fostering confidence, independence, and a sense of self-worth at every age and stage.
  • The future is open: We work in partnership with families and professionals to ensure seamless transitions, enabling our young people to move forward as confident citizens, respected individuals, and successful learners.

At South View Academy, we believe that every child, should have every chance . We are creating a truly specialist environment to support students from Early Years to Year 11 (ages 3–19). Our mission is to ensure every pupil leaves us confident as individuals, responsible as citizens, and successful as learners.

Pupils will join us with a wide range of challenges, meaning you will gain unparalleled experience working across the spectrum of SEND. This will include students with:

  • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties
  • Autistic Spectrum Conditions
  • Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (A key focus for our academy)
  • Complex Medical Needs
  • ADHD and associated behavioural challenges
  • Physical and Sensory Difficulties

Our Specialist Approach

We recognise that no two individuals are the same. We make no judgments about the young people we work with. Instead, we invite them to come on a learning journey with us to:

  • Arrive at a place where they are more comfortable with themselves.
  • Be happy and successful both at home and within society.
  • Develop the essential skills needed for a positive future.

We create a true family-type atmosphere where everyone knows, respects, and is tolerant of everyone else. Friendship, respect, and excellence are the cornerstones of all we do.
