About Somerby Primary School

Somerby is a close-knit community-based school where children are valued and helped to achieve their best.  They are supported and nurtured to become confident and independent people who love to learn and enjoy a challenge.  All schools have their own distinctive 'feel' which makes them unique: we think the special feeling you get at Somerby comes from our caring, supportive and family-feel environment we have created.

Somerby is a happy and creative school, and our staff make it their mission to teach exciting, engaging and fun lessons to help children develop a life-long love for learning.  I am extremely privileged to be part of such a wonderful school, and proud to work with such committed and passionate staff who want to provide the very best opportunities for the children in our care, as well as looking after their well-being.

Each year, we write a new School Development Plan to help us focus on areas of the school we wish to further improve.  We like having a poster version to share with parents and carers (as well as with children) because it helps everyone know what we are working on as a school.  Please find attached a poster version of our School Development Plan (SDP) for this year.
