Welcome to Siddington C of E Primary School, a small school
situated in a unique location between a rural village and a busy industrial
estate. Our school family welcomes our diverse community, embraces our unique
location and the varied industries and skills we have right on our doorstep. On
one walking route to school, you will pass paddocks with grazing sheep and
goats. In the spring, you can hear them
bleat whilst they play in the surrounding fields. Our school has large
grounds. You will find: a sports pitch,
a trike track, a climbing frame, an outdoor gym, a Reflection Garden, an
allotment, a large field, a running track and an extensive space dedicated to Forest
School. There are zoned areas where children can be creative, develop
resilience and learn how to respect nature. All pupils have the opportunity to
experience outdoor learning and are taught by our very own qualified Forest
School teacher.
In Physical Education, children are coached by a specialist
and have opportunities to participate with competitive events at local schools.
As the school grows, we are making links with local artists, businesses and
charities who will join us in our journey to put our school on the map.
Our intake into Reception is fifteen pupils. In Reception, they will start their journey
as a Robin and be taught in a small class of up to 15 pupils with a class
teacher and a teaching assistant. We
then have mixed-age year groups.
Our school Christian values are standards of behaviour that
we believe enable us all to flourish.
These values are evident in Psalm 139 – “I will give thanks to you, for
I am fearfully and wonderfully made,” Psalm 139:14. At Siddington we create a culture of
belonging where pupils are nurtured, appreciated and enabled to flourish. We
want all pupils to develop uniquely and become the best version of themselves;
each individual voice is valued.
In July 2022, Ofsted rated our school, Good. They said:
The personal, social, health and economic curriculum educates pupils to become a responsible citizen of the future. Pupils learn about both the school and British values which reinforces their understanding of democracy, respect, compassion and tolerance. The focus on oracy helps pupils to debate a range of topics in a measured way.
Our vision for Siddington C of E is a school underpinned by its Christian values, which is an ethos driven by high expectations from both staff and pupils. We foster a culture of shared responsibility where everyone has a role to play and is committed to giving our children the absolute best education.
If you would like to come and visit our family school, please contact the school office to make an appointment.
