Sheldon school is a Sheldon School is a large comprehensive Secondary School and Sixth Form in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
At Sheldon, we will be unapologetic in our approach to ensuring that every student can thrive regardless of social background, academic ability or special educational need. We give students a better chance of success than if they attended any other school. We will pride ourselves on having the highest expectations of all students and staff. Priorities for 2024-2025
- KS4 Basics score of 80% 4+ and 60% 5+ and KS5 L3VA +0.20 (ensuring that all students, but particularly the disadvantaged (PP & SEN), achieve exceptional academic outcome.
- To establish and embed a whole school approach to disciplinary literacy and introduce literacy during tutor time/homework.
- Improve attendance for all students including , but particularly that of vulnerable students.
- KS3 Assessment and Key Learning intentions, knowledge and skills of students and are clearly understood by all stakeholders
- Improve the consistency of teaching resources for individual subject areas, to include the Sheldon Teaching and learning framework and TLAC
- Be kind means that we are thoughtful and considered about how we treat ourselves and others and we always show gratitude
- Be brave means that we are confident learners who contribute in lessons. We don’t make excuses and we accept that we all make mistakes and learn from them.
- Be the best you means we give 100% each and every day to be the best we can be. We believe that success comes through showing ambition, grit and stamina.
