At Shaftesbury CE Primary we create an environment where everybody is:
We subscribe to the thinking that none of us can be ready to be the best that we can be if we don’t feel we are safe (physically, mentally and emotionally), loved and INSPIRED.
Our mission comes from the epistle to the Hebrews, 10:24-25:
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
The epistle was written at a time of great hardship for recently converted Christians and it brought great comfort to them in a time of challenge and adversity.
The letter to the Hebrews was a support to these early Christians, and its themes of practicing stewardship over your spiritual life and your personal relationship with God still speak to us today.
Our mission reflects the need to provide this kind of support to all of our community.
Our values are all about showing courage in supporting each other by practicing koinonia and respect. How our friendships are valued and how our learning underpins the creation and development of the people we are.
In living out our values – we aim to ensure that all our learning community feel safe, loved and inspired so they are ready for their next steps – whatever they may be.
At Shaftesbury CE Primary School, INSPIRE, means that we:
are Independent, Never give up, Shine, Participate positively,
celebrate Individuality, Reach for the stars, Explore and excite.
We actively develop the Growth Mindset across the learning community and see all children and adults as learners together. We work as a team to help everyone be the best that they can be.
We are also proud to belong to the Sherborne Areas Schools Trust (SAST) that comprises of several schools in the local area.
If you would like to find out more about our school or the multi-academy trust we belong to then don’t hesitate to get in contact and we’ll do our best to answer all your questions.
