Serenity School Old Palace Croydon is seeking to appoint a dedicated, organised and passionate Assistant SENDCo to join our supportive and collaborative team.
Serenity School Old Palace Croydon is a specialist educational setting that provides a safe, nurturing and structured environment for pupils with a wide range of SEND. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to support the SENDCo in leading and developing high-quality SEND provision across the school. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting staff, pupils and families, ensuring that pupils with additional needs receive effective, targeted and inclusive support.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Supporting the SENDCo in leading and developing provision for pupils with SEND

Assisting with the implementation of inclusive teaching and learning strategies across the school

Supporting the development and monitoring of pupil profiles, intervention plans and provision maps

Monitoring pupil progress and using data to identify and support pupils who require additional intervention

Working collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure high-quality, adaptive teaching for pupils with SEND
-
Liaising with parents/carers and external professionals to support positive outcomes for pupils

Supporting the coordination of access arrangements and SEND processes across the school

Deputising for the SENDCo where appropriate
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who:

Is passionate about inclusion and supporting pupils with SEND to achieve their full potential

Has relevant experience working with children and young people with additional needs

Demonstrates a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive practice

Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

Is able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents/carers and external agencies

Is resilient, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team

Is committed to safeguarding, equality and pupil wellbeing
