About Seahaven Academy

Seahaven Academy is a secondary school for pupils aged 11-16.

At Seahaven we encourage pupils, staff, and parents to have ‘limitless ambition’ as we work together to help every pupil realise their dreams and aspirations. We achieve this in many ways, but fundamentally through providing an excellent education for all our pupils, underpinned by a culture of high expectations and high standards in everything we do. We believe that every child matters and every lesson counts.

We are a highly inclusive school that supports the academic, personal, and social development of all pupils. We ensure that our most able pupils are challenged, while those with special educational needs receive expert support. This ensures that every pupil leaves us fully prepared for the next stage of their lives, whether that is college, employment or further training.

At Seahaven, we believe in educating the whole child. When our pupils leave us, they do so as productive young adults, kind and responsible citizens and motivated lifelong learners.

We are dedicated to providing an outstanding education that empowers our pupils to achieve their full potential. We foster a culture of high expectations, inclusivity and ambition, ensuring that every pupil is prepared for success in an ever-changing world.

We are seeking passionate and committed professionals to join our team and contribute to our vision of excellence. As part of our academy, you will benefit from a collaborative and dynamic working environment, with opportunities for professional development and career progression.

If you are motivated to make a real difference in the lives of young people and share our commitment to high standards and pupil success, we would love to hear from you.

We make no apologies for our clear expectations, structured routines and consistent approach. These are combined with exceptional pastoral care, delivered by a dedicated staff team who support every aspect of our pupils’ school lives.

Teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do at Seahaven Academy. We believe that learning takes place both inside and outside the classroom, and we will always go the extra mile to help our pupils succeed – while maintaining the very high standards we set for ourselves and our school community.

Staff morale is high and we are proud of the positive culture we have built together. If our mission to transform the futures of all our pupils resonates with you, then Seahaven could be the team for you. We warmly encourage prospective applicants to arrange a visit to see the school in action.

Seahaven Academy is located in the historic port town of Newhaven, positioned between the coastal cities of Brighton and Eastbourne on the vibrant Sussex coastline.

The Academy sits proudly at the top of the cliffs, overlooking sweeping views of the English Channel. Its elevated position gives pupils and staff a unique connection to the coastline, where the changing light and rolling waves create an inspiring backdrop to daily school life. From the school grounds, the horizon stretches endlessly across the water, helping the Academy feel both deeply connected to its local community and open to the wider world beyond.

Our building is modern, vibrant, and well maintained, providing an inspiring environment for learning and working. Classrooms are well resourced and equipped with technology that supports effective teaching and learning, while extensive outside spaces give pupils room to learn, socialise and enjoy the coastal setting throughout the school day.

Seahaven Academy provides an environment for learning and working that reflects our three core values: Ambition, Confidence and Kindness.

“Leaders also take appropriate steps to manage staff workload and well-being, creating a positive and supportive working environment. As a result, staff feel valued...” Ofsted 2025
