Dear Reader,
Welcome to St Joseph’s. It is my privilege to share some with you what makes our school such a special place but we don’t want you to take our word for it and invite you to see for yourself.
There is much to celebrate at St Joseph’s. Our school is a welcoming, happy school where people are helpful, considerate and respectful of each other. The children are very happy and enjoy learning. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated team of teachers, teaching assistants and other staff who strive to ensure that every child is successful, confident and responsible, equipped with all the skills they need to continue on their future learning journey. We aim to develop the whole child through our caring Christian ethos. It is our vision that every child deserves the best possible education, regardless of background and ability, and we work with determination to ensure that we unlock their potential.
I am very proud to be the Headteacher at St Joseph’s with its wonderful children, hardworking staff, supportive governing body and Catholic Multi-Academy Trust. Our school has excellent links with the parish of the Most Holy and Undivided Trinity. Father Andrew is our parish priest who celebrates our Masses, assemblies, governor and regular visitor to our school. It is through working together; home, school and parish that we are able to provide a happy, caring and effective learning environment, where expectations and standards are high. .
We are continually striving to be the very best that we can possibly be, in whatever important role we play within St Joseph’s. The school works collaboratively within the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi Academy Trust by reviewing each other’s schools and sharing expertise and training amongst staff. This helps us to share good practice and to support various areas of school life. St Joseph’s is outward looking in its approach to learning. At St Joseph’s we are one big family and ensure that however we learn and whatever we do, we always follow our school mission statement to ‘value all in the name of Jesus the Christ.’
The children, staff and wider community are very proud of St Joseph’s. Beyond the academic successes we take great care of our pupils and there are a rich variety of activities that take place beyond the classroom to enrich the curriculum. We believe that it is these activities which help make our students successful in and outside the classroom. We work in partnership with parents and carers and very much value the support and contribution they make to school life.
We know how difficult it can be to balance work and family life and that is why here at St Joseph’s we make an effort to allow you to have that balance with breakfast club opening at 7.45am and our wrap around care closing at 17.15 we really do want to make life as easy as possible for all of the families in our school community.
You don’t need an open day to come and see us as we always welcome visitors. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to see how special our school really is and how we can help you and your child on their education journey.
Kind regards
Mr J Leech
Headteacher
