For over 100 years it has been our privilege to serve the local community in this part of Rotherhithe. The children of Redriff, our children, are our best asset and sit at the heart of all we do. They deserve the very best start in life that we can give them. Working together, we aim for our children’s years at Redriff to be one of the happiest, most productive and fulfilling times of their lives. We wish all our children to feel success in their endeavours, to have a strong sense of identity and community, to be empowered as individuals and to develop positive emotional, social and physical wellbeing.
We want children from Redriff to have the capacity and the desire to be future leaders: of our community, of our country and of our world. To achieve this, we employ some of the most dedicated and talented staff in London. Consistency for us is that we continue to work for, and achieve, outcomes consistently above national expectations for all the children in our care. Staff have the highest expectations of conduct, effort and attainment ensuring all children have the best possible outcomes. We are very proud of our inclusive practice that ensures no one is left behind. We are committed to providing a positive environment that is welcoming, safe and supportive.
Redriff is an inclusive and welcoming school where every child is seen as an individual and celebrated for who they are. Redriff prides itself on work with vulnerable children. The Boat House, a resource base for children with autism, provides exceptional support for those for whom inclusion into mainstream provision is not usually possible. These pupils make outstanding progress (in comparison to this group nationally). The school aims to educate the community on the potential of pupils with autism. The school has an accreditation from the National Autistic Society.
In our academy, we expect children to work hard and demonstrate dedication and commitment to their education. There are clear boundaries and rules that children must follow at all times. We teach and expect children to exhibit exemplary character and conduct, showing respect, kindness, and politeness towards one another and adults. In return, we provide them with an excellent education, fostering both academic success and personal development. We aim to help them cultivate the skills and values needed to thrive in later life.
We are part of the City of London Academies Trust, where we believe strongly in the transformational nature of education operating schools in areas of significant disadvantage. We understand that strong outcomes lead to improved life chances for our children, so we are unashamedly academic and unapologetically results driven. Each of our schools adopt a ‘warm/strict’ approach, combining high expectations with care and support. Our level of care means we never compromise on standards or expectations, ensuring that no child’s background becomes a reason for lowering the bar. Our schools maintain exemplary standards of behaviour, with systems, rituals and norms that instil strong habits. As a result, our schools provide an environment where our teachers can teach, and children can learn without disruption. We take great pride in fostering an exceptionally positive learning environment and we work meticulously to maintain our strong ethos and culture.
We combine the heritage and tradition of the Corporation of London with a genuinely innovative, enterprising, and entrepreneurial ethos. We look for ambitious and culturally aligned staff who are enthusiastic, hardworking, conscientious and energetic individuals. Our people want to work with children to ensure that, regardless of their background and circumstances, they will achieve to the best of their ability. In return, we offer a calm, orderly and respectful environment. We also offer a range of staff benefits and development opportunities which support your professional and career development. You will be able to learn from some of the best and most able practitioners in the country. There is a far-reaching commitment to ensuring that all our staff are given the access to excellent development and induction programmes.
