About Redbridge Alternative Provision
Redbridge Alternative Provision (RAP) is a school that provides support for pupils who have been, or who are at risk of, permanent exclusion from mainstream schools. The school has a separate provision (YEP) for up to 65 Year 11 pupils, who are new to the country, many of whom arrived unaccompanied.
At RAP we aim to provide a high-quality education which is tailored, inclusive and inspiring for young people who are at risk of permanent exclusion or for those who have been permanently excluded. Running parallel to this is a programme of wrap-around pastoral care ensuring our students’ emotional and social needs are met.
Students are challenged to take responsibility, modify their behaviour, improve attitudes to school life and make academic progress across the range and breadth of curriculum opportunities available. In addition to classroom-based learning, students are provided with enrichment opportunities throughout the academic year.
We respect that all our young people are individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds and life-experiences. We passionately believe that by assisting them to overcome their personal barriers they should be entitled to access the full range of opportunities available in society.
