ABOUT RAYLEIGH PRIMARY SCHOOL AND NURSERY
Welcome to Rayleigh Primary School and Nursery.
We are the original school in the town, dating back to 1895. Since then, there have been many changes and we now provide education for over 450 pupils. We are part of the Schools for Every Child Multi-Academy Trust, alongside Wyburns Primary School and North Crescent Primary School.
As a Trust, we look to encourage our community and pupils to be ethical, altruistic and pioneering. The children work towards pro-social rewards, defined as 'voluntary behaviour intended to benefit another' (Eisenberg et al., 2006). These are characterised by acts of kindness, compassion, and helping behaviours. This year alone, our children have entertained at the local Community Centre, adopted a penguin, organised a car wash and litter picked at the local park.
At Rayleigh Primary School, we pride ourselves on delivering an exciting curriculum, alongside a wealth of experiences that support and challenge all pupils. We seek to provide an exceptional education, where children can thrive and make lifelong memories. Pupil voice is an essential part of school life and we have Eco and School Council representatives.
The school has wonderful facilities that aid curiosity and engagement. These range from the extensive outside environment, the Nursery unit, the school swimming pool, the Dance and Drama Studio, the Music Room and beyond.
As a school, we encourage all our families to be involved in their child's education. We foster open communication and have a host of opportunities in which parents and carers can participate in school life.
We know how important it is to ignite a love of learning during the children's primary years and we are passionate about working alongside our community in order to do so. Together, we can prepare our learners for the world that awaits.
