Welcome

Welcome to Ormiston Bridge Academy. We provide education for up to 50 Key Stage 3 and 4 students from the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham at risk of or excluded from mainstream school. Children come to our school via the following routes:

• Managed intervention – between 5 days to 5 weeks
• 12-week placement
• Privately agreed manage move
• Permanent exclusion
• Fair access panel 
• ECHP pending placement

Many of our students have social, emotional and mental health needs, in addition to learning needs. We believe that success for our young people comes as a result of our specialist approach, we are interested in activities that develop all of our young peoples’ capabilities; rekindling engagement in academia to develop lifelong learning, developing potential for employability, developing the ability to have successful healthy relationships and ensuring that all have the knowledge and skills to be able to make safe life choices. We believe that through this approach we support our pupils, enhancing their quality of life and promoting the realisation of their aspirations.

We believe that success for our young people comes as a result of our specialist approach, we are interested in activities that develop all of your young peoples’ capabilities; their potential for employability, their ability to have successful healthy relationships, their ability to make safe life choices, thereby enhancing their quality of life and the realisation of their aspirations. For this reason we take into account our young peoples’ education experiences to date, their social emotional health and mental health, their family situation and experiences and their special educational need (SEN) needs prior to joining our school. We work closely with professionals, families and other practitioners to affect change in our young peoples’ lives, ensuring our work is holistic and therefore creates success by any means for all of our learners. Whilst success may be varied for our learners, we are proud of the work that we do and the environment of our school which is caring supportive and inclusive.
