Nyland School is a specialist primary school for pupils with SEMH need. We aim to build an ethos of emotional awareness and understanding, known as emotional quotient, before intellectual quotient in order to promote relevant and sustained development of the ‘whole child’.
We use a curriculum that is directly designed to meet both emotional and academic need appropriately for our cohort. This combined approach includes a deep understanding of social, emotional, and mental health need and how this impacts on emotional wellbeing and academic learning.
Our classes are small with a high adult-to-pupil ratio in order to meet specific need, and we begin each day with ‘morning mindfulness’ and celebrate the diverse and unique qualities our pupils bring to each new day.
We hope that you enjoy browsing our school’s website and it gives you an insight into all that we do at Nyland School. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can help you in any other way.
