Northampton Academy is a transformational comprehensive and non-selective school for pupils aged 11-18, serving a diverse community. We are proud to have been judged ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted in March 2023.
Our values, Respect, Determination, Ambition, Tolerance and Integrity, underpin every decision we make. We are committed to developing the whole child through a comprehensive pupil character-building programme, nationally recognised with the Character Quality Mark Plus.
Our vision is to be recognised as an inclusive school of character and excellence, providing an exceptional educational experience that enables every pupil to flourish and leave a legacy of which the community can be proud of. We exist to ensure that pupils in our community have life chances that are equal to, or greater than, those of any young person in the UK.
The Academy is part of United Learning’s Northamptonshire and North Oxfordshire cluster, working closely with Campion School, Kettering Buccleuch Academy, Montsaye Academy and North Oxfordshire Academy. This collaboration allows us to share expertise, access joint services, and enrich the educational experience for all.
Working at Northampton Academy means joining a dedicated team of staff who are valued for contributions, where wellbeing and professional growth are a priority.
At our core, we embrace the motto ‘Our Differences Unite Us’ and are committed to inclusivity. This commitment has been recognised through the Inclusive School Award and the prestigious ‘Centre of Excellence’ award from the Inclusion Quality Mark, reflecting our ongoing focus on delivering outstanding inclusive education for pupils, parents and the wider community.
Northampton Academy is situated on the eastern side of Northampton, in a well-connected and thriving area of the town. The academy boasts impressive facilities including well-equipped science labs, creative arts spaces and technology-enhanced learning environments. Pupils also benefit from extensive outdoor areas.
The location offers excellent accessibility, with ample on-site parking, convenient public transport links and easy access to the M1 at Junction 15. Northampton itself combines the convenience of a busy urban centre with a wide range of local amenities and is within easy reach of the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside.
