About Newland St John's Church of England Academy
At Newland St John’s Academy, children come
first and staff do all possible to help them meet their full potential. The
strong staff team provides a learning environment where children are cared for,
make good progress and have high standards of behaviour.
It is a very special
and safe place where we live, learn and grow together in the love of God.
Our vision is that all children should be able to flourish and live life in all its fullness (John 10:10).
We provide a rich, broad and balanced curriculum that has a strong
focus on developing knowledge and skills, through exciting and stimulating
learning themes and contexts.
Our dedicated staff and governor team provides a learning environment where children are cared for, have their talents nurtured, and develop both academically and personally.
We have a close relationship with our parish church, St John
Newland, and are part of Hope Sentamu Learning Trust, a family of academies
working together to improve outcomes for children, under the oversight of the
Diocese of York Educational Trust.
As a Church of England academy we celebrate our Christian ethos,
whilst also welcoming families of other faiths and none.
We foster a family atmosphere where all people are respected and each child knows that they are important and worthwhile members of the school and wider society. Consideration for others is a priority of our school.
